【Dr. Daniel Timmer delivers an academic report on frontiers of ultrafast spectroscopy】
To further advance cutting-edge research in ultrafast spectroscopy and polariton quantum dynamics, strengthen high-level international research collaboration, and support upgrades to the ultrafast two-dimensional spectroscopy experimental platform, Dr. Daniel Timmer from Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany, visited our research group. The visit took place at the invitation of Associate Professor Jin-Hui Zhong. During his 11-day academic visit, Dr. Timmer gave a series of frontier academic lectures.
Dr. Daniel Timmer is a full-time research scholar at Philipps-Universität Marburg. He earned his PhD from the University of Oldenburg in 2024. His long-term research focuses on developing ultrafast spectroscopy techniques and exploring polariton dynamics. Dr. Timmer has published abundant research results. He also possesses a strong theoretical background and rich hands-on experimental experience.

The academic visit lasted from September 13 to 23, 2026. During his stay, Dr. Timmer delivered a state-of-the-art academic report. He systematically introduced the core principles and technological breakthroughs of sub-10 fs time-resolved two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy. He also shared its innovative applications and latest findings in studying coherent Rabi oscillation dynamics of polaritons.
After the talk, Dr. Timmer had in-depth discussions with faculty and students in our research group.Their disscussions focused on recent experimental progress, major technical bottlenecks, and emerging frontiers in polariton research.
In addition, Dr. Timmer provided on-site guidance for the commissioning, upgrade and optimization of our ultrafast two-dimensional spectroscopy laser system. He helped resolve key problems in equipment operation and parameter tuning. His work greatly improved the precision of our experimental platform and lifted the overall research capability of the team.
